Eco-paper Balloons

Doves, flowers, or fish? With our eco-paper balloons, the sky becomes a giant canvas for what you want to express-- peace, happiness, remembrance, or simply celebration. If you are planning a wedding or other ceremony, organizing a festival or sporting event, eco-paper balloons are a simple and beautiful way to add a special touch to the ceremony and leave a lasting impression.

Eco-paper balloons are a unique product developed by SHOW Corporation and patented in Japan as biodegradable paper balloons. In contrast to conventional balloons made of latex, the balloons are made of traditional Japanese paper coated with PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol, which is soluble in water), which make them environmentally friendly and appropriate for releasing in large numbers. In October 2000, the balloons were designated as "environmentally friendly" by the state of Florida, U.S.A., which has some of the toughest environmental laws in the country.

Eco-paper balloons are available both in the standard dove shape and customized versions. Customers have a choice of printing messages on existing shapes, or designing a new shape altogether. The dove shapes are especially popular among wedding coordinators, as the paper doves really do seem to flap their wings and fly into the air when released. They caused a great sensation when 1998 of these "doves" were released into the air at the opening ceremony of the Nagano Olympics.

Eco-paper balloons are also easy to handle and very safe. All that is required is a helium gas pump, which is easy to operate using a conventional "gun-type" pump with a pressure adjustment valve. This is the same pump that is used for pumping helium into conventional latex balloons, and is widely available. Also, unlike latex balloons that can easily burst, eco-paper balloons can be handled safely by everyone.
